ABOUT THE CENTER
The Center for Philanthropic Studies conducts research on all aspects of philanthropy, including charitable giving, foundation grants, blood donations and volunteering. We are part of the Department of Sociology at Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. Members of the Center contribute to education on the Bachelor and Master level throughout the Faculty of Social Sciences. Furthermore, the Center offers post-academic programs for professionals in the Dutch philanthropic sector.

Route
You can find the Centre in room 2E55b of the VU main building. If you come by tram (line 5 in the direction of Amstelveen Binnenhof) or Metro (line 51 in the direction of Amstelveen Westwijk), get out at stop ‘De Boelelaan/VU’. The main building is the building at your right hand side. Go through the revolving glass doors of the main entrance, keep left, and go up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Philanthropic Studies is with the Department of Public Administration and Political Science in the E-wing of the 2nd floor.
